GO FORTH ACADEMY OF EXCELLENCE

is indeed my dream come true. It has been a miraculous journey for me to arrive at this juncture of my life.

Teaching is my passion. It is my life line. My search and love for my profession took form in GO FORTH ACADEMY OF EXCELLENCE. I have put in all my learning and teaching experiences in curating a curriculum of my own to teach the English Language to my students. Thanks and praise to the Almighty for creating in me the founder of GO FORTH ACADEMY OF EXCELLENCE.

CHURCH PARK - The Magical Word

My love and passion for teaching blossomed at a very young age when I was a just a 12-year old student, a proud and responsible class leader, minding my class and assisting my school teachers. In the later years of my schooling, I was fortunate enough to enter the portals of Sacred Heart Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, Church Park. C-H-U-R-C-H-P-A-R-K, the matchless word created the magic in my life. As a teenager I started looking at the world as a positive place to live. My years of learning spent in the campus brought light to my life. The insights I gathered there as a student has built my value system. I sincerely thank Rev. Sr. Rose Mary for being my greatest source of Inspiration.

  • My Alma Mater

From my school campus, I always gave a longing look at the gates of the Church Park Teachers Training College. Yes, I did enter the Church Park Training College one day and the magic grew exponentially. The question asked to me by the then Principal of the Training College is still resounding in my ears, “Helen, you need to have iron nerves to study under me in the Training School. Are you prepared?” I said, “YES”, with no knowledge of what it takes to study there. I thank Rev. Sr. Anita Stephen for trusting me to have iron nerves.

I indeed developed the iron nerves. I successfully passed out of the training school with a distinction in my Teachers Training. I owe all that I am today to my Alma Mater. I have always stood brave and always stood true.

This is a line from my school song. I can proudly say that I have thus far lived up to each and every single line that I sang in my school song. The lyrics are fresh in my mind and I don’t need a google search.

  • Teaching is My Vocation

I began my teaching career as a young and amateur teacher in St. William’s Anglo Indian High School. I learnt and mastered the art of teaching under the able guidance of my senior teachers and my headmistresses. I owe a deep sense of gratitude to Rev. Sr. Marian Kurian for setting high standards in my teaching profession during the early years of my career. My special thanks to Rev. Sr. Vinita for shaping my personality as a teacher. My gratitude goes to my friend, philosopher and guide, Mrs. Ameeta Miranda. Her words of wisdom will always be my treasure. My eight years of work experience there moulded me into an expert teacher.

I entered the portals of St. Dominic’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary as a seasoned teacher with enough experience in my teaching profession. 12 more years of teaching in this highly reputed school, ably run by the FMM sisters gave me enough life experience. It is there where I concluded my journey as a school teacher and took the leap to chase my passion. 20 years of my teaching experience has trained me to do my best in all my endeavours. I look forward to reaching greater heights in teaching and serving the society to uphold the honour of my Alma Mater and to bring glory to God.
